Case Summary:
The Case that Never Was

This is not a real court case. In 2000, the House of Commons Health Select Committee in Great Britain gained access to BAT company files which contained incriminating evidence of the company's facilitation of smuggling. However, BAT was able to avoid a lawsuit. This is a compilation of evidence that could have been brought against the company had such a case occurred.*

*Since 2000, BAT has been tried and found guilty of smuggling in multiple cases, most notably in China and Hong Kong.
